What We Do
GHCP seeks to bridge the gap between private companies in Africa and international capital providers by combining strategic consulting, corporate finance advisory and private equity capabilities within a small, highly-focused team.
We engage with a select group of clients at an early stage and form multi-year partnerships to help them grow their businesses.

Our Approach
EARLY ENGAGEMENT
We engage with clients at an early stage - often before they have well-defined growth strategies – to assist them in defining their needs and goals, to develop capital allocation and fundraising plans, and to prepare them for investment by institutional funders.
HANDS-ON APPROACH
We get our hands-dirty – including at an operational and reporting level – to establish GHCP as our clients’ de facto in-house strategic finance teams, addressing needs, opportunities and risks throughout our clients’ businesses and across their capital structures.
HIGHLY FOCUSED
Our engagements are time-consuming and labor-intensive, requiring a high degree of trust and focus; as a result, we limit our engagements to a maximum of 4 – 5 clients at any time and are highly selective about the clients with which we partner.
LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS
Many of the best deals in our markets come from individuals and independent sponsors who are deeply networked within their home markets; we partner on a deal-by-deal basis with a trusted group of these individuals to bolster our local capabilities.
LONG-TERM MENTATLITY
Good investments in Africa and other frontier markets often take 12 – 36 months to prepare, diligence and execute; engaging as hands-on advisors enables us to ‘bake’ deals and build trust with companies over longer timeframes than traditional investment banks or private equity investors.
